Catch problems before they get expensive
Preventive maintenance is how you avoid nasty surprises. Rather than waiting for a breakdown, plan regular inspections that catch problems before they get expensive. This kind of servicing is recommended every 10,000 to 15,000 km, or according to how the vehicle is used.
Before winter
Cold is hard on the battery, the coolant and the wipers. Make sure they're ready before the first frost, and plan to have your winter tires put on before December 1.
Between visits
- Check the engine oil and washer fluid levels.
- Make sure all headlights and lights work.
- Replace wiper blades as soon as they start to streak.

- Note any unusual noise, smell or vibration, and mention it at your next visit.
